The IC-W32E complies with the essential requirements of the89/336/EEC directive for Electromagnetic Compatibility.Thiscompliance is based on conformity with the ETSI specificationprETS300 684 (EMC product standard for Commercially Avail-able Amateur Radio Equipment).
hold the transceiver so that theantenna is very close to, or touching exposed parts of thebody, especially the face or eyes, while transmitting. Thetransceiver will perform best if the microphone is 5 to 10 cm(2 to 4 in) away from the lips and the transceiver is vertical.
operate the transceiver with aheadset or other audio accessories at high volume levels.Hearing experts advise against continuous high volume op-eration. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce thevolume level or discontinue use.
connect the transceiver to an AC outlet or to apower source of more than 16 V DC. Such a connection willdamage the transceiver.
connect the transceiver to a power source that isDC fused at more than 5 A. Accidental reverse connection willbe protected by this fuse, higher fuse values will not give anyprotection against such accidents and the transceiver will beruined.
attempt to charge alkaline or dry cell batteries. Be-ware that external DC power connections will charge batteriesinside the battery case. This will damage not only the batterycase but also the transceiver.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
carefully and com-pletely before using the transceiver.
