BMX Club Circuit Zolder has the honor to invite you on its race track in Zolder forrounds 1 & 2 off the 2011 European Championships on the 2

of April 2011.Circuit Zolder, the only race track in Flanders, finds its roots in the late 1950’s andhas been the scene for various milestones ever since. The entire range of motorsports has been present on the circuit, and some of them still are. Thehighlights were the multiple Formula 1 Grand Prix’ that have been held. In the late1960’s, Belgian and World Championships Cycling have already been organised atCircuit Zolder. So you can see that close to the automotive part there is a cycling-unit at our Race-Track.Since 2008 Circuit Zolder has founded a new BMX club named after the racetrack.Since the sport has been recognized by the Olympic Committee it has beenbooming in Europe. Our track “the Lotto BMX-track” is 400 m long and isequipped with a pro-section (since 2010) and on our largest corners, there will bea new layer of tarmac for this event. After only 2 years we already are the biggestclub in Belgium with 140 members. Heusden-Zolder

Heusden-Zolder is a municipality located in the Belgian province Limburg nearHasselt. We have a population of 30.896 and the total area is53,23

km². Heusden-Zolder was the result of the merger of the two formermunicipalities of Heusden and Zolder in 1977. During the 1960’s Belgian coal mines faced an enormous shortage of employees. To address this problem, foreignlaborers were encouraged to immigrate and work near the mines. In 1992 the lastmine in the BENELUX located atZolder closed his doors. Besides the mines Heusden-Zolder has abeautiful nature, forest, lakes andcastles. Like the castle Meylandtand the castle Vogelsanck. This competition is under the UEC rules.Riders will race with their own license plate with their international number.Side plates glued on the frame of the bike are forbidden.
