COURSE OBJECTIVES
Familiarize students with fundamentals of Organization Behavior.
Enhance their appreciation of these fundamentals and the application to various
organizational management processes.

I. Conceptual Foundation, Evolution, Nature and Significance of


Organizational Behavior
Overview of historical and current perspectives, practice and principles of org
Behavior-Relationship to other fields-Theoretical Frameworks-The challenges
Facing Management.

2. Managerial Roles and Role Efficacy Performance Management


Understanding the different roles that a manager plays in org-Understand the
concept of role efficacy and its implication in management-Identify the critical
areas in performance management-Different modules of
managerial roles and their application-Concept of roles making, linking and
centering-Role conflict, role stress and resolution-Process of performance
management- Designing and implementing performance management system.

3. Work Groups and Work Teams


Understand the nature of working groups, Dynamic of group formation and
various types of group in
organization-Describe the process of team development- Differentiate between
groups and teams-Understand the process of developing team effectiveness-
Interpersonal behavior at work and decision-making

4. Leadership, Power and Politics Conflict Management


Define and understand leadership-Identify traditional and modern approaches
to leadership-Define power,
various classifications and its relationship to authority and influence-Identify the
types and nature of org politics- Describe sources and levels of org conflict.

5. Organization Culture and Change


Define organization culture and its characteristics-Identify the stages of
evolution ot org culture-Learn how to measure organization culture.-Identify
various theoretical models of organization culture-Identify some issues related
to cross cultural management-Understand the nature of organization change
6. Contemporary Issues
Identify contemporary issues within the domain or organization behavior-
Understand the implication for managers and organization.-Globalization and
workforce diversity-Managing creativity and innovation-Work life balance-
Technology and the virtual workplace-Corporate governance.
