OK, so I just wasted 15 minwriting a review for this TVthat just disappeared. I'mgonna try it again and hopefor the best, there might betwo reviews from me thatshow up at some point. I amjust so happy with this TVthat I am going to give itanother try.I spent a lot of time researching different brands that sold40" LCD TV's. I would say the main reason I went with aSamsung is because I have another flat screen Samsungthat is still kickin at almost 4 years old. That may notsound like a long time but I bought a Vizio at Best Buythat lasted 13 months, it died one month after thewarranty expired, go figure. My old Samsung is 720p so Iwanted to buy a 1080p, 120hz model to see what I wasmissing.
First let me say that I have purchased many small itemfrom Amazon in the past. This TV (at 749.00) was a bigpurchase for me, especially off the internet. Thanks toother reviews from this page I went for it and would do itagain. The carrier was a company called Pilot. I was ableto select a date and time for delivery. They were there ontime, brought the box into my living room, took the TVout, and plugged it in to make sure it worked before theyleft!I sat there for a long time reading the instructions andplaying with all the settings. After that I watched HD TV,Blu Ray's, PS3 games, football games, even very oldmovies to see the difference with everything. The 120hzsetting is amazing, it makes any TV show or movie your watching look like a home movie. Blu Ray is out of control! I can see how this would be distracting but for now I find it fascinating. On most things it is overkill, ittakes that "movie" feel out. Of course you can put thesetting very low without turning it off, which I like.This is a great TV for a GREAT price. I would buyanother big item from Amazon since everything went sowell.
After putting off buying an HDTV I finally broke down. Ihad a perfectly good 27" Sony Trinitron that I was happywith. I did alot of research with Consumers Reports and onthe web and decided on Samsung 40". I loved the swivelbase. Not all HDTV's come with a swivel base. It was a littlebit more but the reports were very good. I was always taughtyou get what you pay for. Went to a few stores and priced afew sets. Amazon had the best price but I was concernedabout having a TV shipped. I never bought anything fromAmazon before. I was so impressed when I read that whenordered what time period and day I wanted it delivered. Iordered on a Sunday and chose to be delivered on Thurdaybetween 10-1pm. I was able to track the package. Then I gota call at 10:15 on Thursday and the driver said he was in theneighborhood and will be there shortly. I walked out on myterrace to have a smoke and they drove up in 3 minutes. Ichecked the package and model number and told them I wasimpressed with the service. I hooked it up shortly thereafter and was very pleased. I would recommend the TV. I wasimpressed with Amazon service.
