Samsung PN50C550 50-Inch 1080p PlasmaHDTV Review
We recently purchased asamsung 50 inch plasmatv. Delivery was on dayand on the time thedelivery company, HomeService quoted. thedelivery men opened thebox, set up the tv, andturned it on to see if everything worked. Amazon price was less than localincluding best buy, no sales tax with amazon and nodelivery charges additional. best buy wanted 60 dollarsto deliver and another 50 to set up and power up. the tvis oustanding thus far, no buzzing sound, great picutreand we didnt have to do any tweaking on the picturequality. we use a vga cable and a sound cable to viewmovies etc from a laptop. i did a ton of research onplasma versus lcd, i am very pleased with plasma, especially when viewing sporting events. my nextpurchase will be a sound bar for the tv. not far behind

will be a nettop computer for the tv. the nettop is aboutthe size of a hardcover book and comes with a wirelessmouse and a wirelss keyboard. i looked at an acer andasus nettop, amazon prices are about 200 dollars lessthan best buy for the same item. we are vey satisfiedwith all our amazon purchases including lower prices.DonOur first flat panel tv, replacing a 14y.o. 35" RPTV. Iwent with a Samsung because I've been using Samsungmonitors for the past 12yrs and have always beenimpressed with their color reproduction, longevity andbuild quality. This plasma is stunning!Three HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, Composite andcomponent ports and a built-in media player for USBdevices (thumb drives, hard drives)-- this, for me, is agreat feature. I can view .avi/.mkv (and other formats)videos by simply transferring them to a USB drive andconnecting it to the tv. Next I will be purchasing a USBexternal hard drive and using that to store the many

video files I have. Essentially creating my own 'station'!Very cool! You also have the option to wirelessly connect the tv toa home network for streaming music/photos/videos,unfortunately, Samsung wants $70+ for a USB wirelessadapter (which is ridiculous) but I've read that you canuse a cheaper alternative to accomplish this.I couldn't be more pleased with this TV... it is truly anexcellent piece of equipment and I hope to keep it for the next 14yrs!
