Siksa-Diksa
by Dhruva Maharaja dasa
(originally published as pamphlet for Srila Prabhupada's Centennial 1996)
Do You Agree With The Following Points? If You Don't
 —
You Will After Reading This Pamphlet
Point # 1: Worshiping our guru means revering "anyonewho gives spiritual instructions based on the revealed  scriptures." It does not mean worshiping only that personwho gives you initiation.
Point #2: There is no difference between the spiritualmaster's instructions and the spiritual master himself.
Point #3: There is no difference between the shelter-giving  Supreme Lord and the initiating and instructing spiritual masters. If one foolishly discriminates between them, hecommits an offense in the discharge of devotional service.
Point #4: Anyone, even a non-liberated soul, can giveinstructions and perform the functions of a guru.
Point #5: The words spoken by the spirituamaster─vani─are more important than vapu, his personal  presence. His words continue to exist eternally.

Point #6: Srila Prabhupada's instructions are readilyavailable to everyone.
Point #7: In our line of the sampradaya, siksa is moreimportant than diksa.
Point #8: Newly initiated devotees in general are notcultivating proper relationships with Srila Prabhupadaand other siksa-gurus because too much emphasis isplaced on the relationship with their diksa-guru.
Point #9: The Ritvik Theory is not supported in the Vedas. There are no examples of any bona fide sampradayaimplementing such a system. Thus, because it is no supported by guru, sadhu, and sastra it must be considered a mental concoction and rejected.
DEDICATION
This booklet is for anyone who is a member of—or has atany time been a member of—the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) established by HisDivine Grace AC. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in1966. It is especially directed toward devotees whose faithmay have been shaken due to the immaturity of our society,in hopes that their faith may be revived.

INTRODUCTION
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupadawas a rare individual who appeared during unique times.Throughout his life, and for the most part in only elevenyears, he was empowered to establish the KrsnaConsciousness Movement all over the world—on all sevencontinents! Powerful preaching such as his was previouslyunheard of in any religious movement, be it Vedic or not.Technological developments of this century proved anadvantage Srila Prabhupada utilized to their fullest extent.Today we have more than sixty volumes of his beautifully bound books, over 1,000 lecture tapes, and many hours of video recordings. Through these mediums, which were notavailable to
acaryas
of previous ages, Srila Prabhupadacontinues to enlighten us even after his physical departurefrom this world.Without entering into distasteful deliberations about the"guru issue" which have already been extensively discussedduring recent years, we would like to establish the fact thatSrila Prabhupada is the
 siksa-guru,
or the instructingspiritual master, for his entire International Society foKrishna Consciousness, just as Ramanujacarya oMadhvacarya are the
 siksa-gurus
for their respective schoolsof thought even hundreds of years subsequent to theileaving this material world. This should act as a panacea for those suffering from confusion or doubts about having a
maha-bhagavat, uttama-adhikari
devotee for a guru, andwill hopefully increase everyone's desire to hear directlyfrom Srila Prabhupada whether they are his personallyinitiated disciples or not. Indeed, the essential meaning of the Srila Prabhupada Centennial is to bring our Founder-Acarya more into the center of our collective consciousness.
