Constitution of the Christian Socialist Fellowship [adopted May 29, 1909]
Article VI — Ofﬁcers.
Its ofﬁcers shall consist of a Gen-eral Secretary, a General Treasurer, and a GeneralExecutive Committee of 25 members — not morethan 3 of whom shall be from any one state, to beelected annually by the General Conference andto serve until their successors are elected.
The Secretary and the Treasurershall be ex-ofﬁcio members of the Executive Com-mittee.
Article VII — Duties of Ofﬁcers.
The duties of the ofﬁcers shall bethose usually devolving upon their respectiveofﬁces.
The General Secretary shall issuemonthly dues stamps to Center Organizations at5¢ each and to members at large at 15¢ each.
The General Secretary and Gen-eral Treasurer shall make complete monthly re-ports to the Fellowship.
The Executive Committee shallmeet in regular session annually during the monthof April, at the place of and immediately preced-ing the General Conference.
Special meetings may be called atany time by a majority of the Executive Commit-tee to act upon such business as the call speciﬁes.
All meetings of the ExecutiveCommittee and of the Fellowship shall be calledto order by the Secretary, and the President shallbe elected for the session.
The General Secretary shall sub-mit to the members of the Executive Committee,by correspondence, all special business of impor-tance in the interim of Executive Committee meet-ings.
A majority of the Executive Com-mittee shall constitute a legal quorum for busi-ness by correspondence. Ten members shall con-stitute a quorum at any regular or special meetingof which all the members have been duly notiﬁed.
The salaries of ofﬁcers shall be ﬁxedby the General Executive Committee.
Article VIII — General Conference.
The General Conference of the Fel-lowship shall be held in April of each year at suchdate and place as the preceding Conference shallhave determined. In default of such action by theConference, the place and date shall be ﬁxed by the Executive Committee.
The General Conference shall con-sist of delegates elected upon the following basis:1 delegate at large for each organized state, to beelected by the State Committee; 1 delegate for eachCenter, having 10 members or less, with additionaldelegates for each additional 10 members or frac-tion thereof.
Article IX — Vacancies.
Vacancies occurring between sessions of theGeneral Conference in the membership of theExecutive Committee, or any ofﬁce, may be ﬁlledby a majority vote of the Executive Committee.
Article X — District Organizations.
The General Secretary shall, withthe approval of the Executive Committee, appointDistrict Secretaries at convenient centers of popu-lation.
Each District Secretary shall en-deavor to advance the objects of the ChristianSocialist Fellowship by increasing its membership,circulating literature, obtaining dates for lectures,securing subscriptions for The Christian Socialistand other Socialist publications, and organizingCenters within his territory.
He shall call a Conference of all who are interested at some convenient place inhis District at least once a year. This Conference
