Share an arts activity in your school which you have participated

Two years ago. To celebrate our school’s Silver Jubilee ,four performances of
English Broadway musical, ‘Jekyll and Hyde’was lunched. I am glad that I was one
of the performer in this musical because I’ve gained a lot of experience in this
participation.
When I was form three second term, my music teacher told me that our school will
hold a show of Broadway musical for the celebration of Silver Jubilee and suggested
me to join the casting. I felt very surprise about that because I had only joined the
school choir for a half year. Luckily, I was selected to be the member of chorus.
As‘Jekyll and Hyde’was premiere in Hong Kong and it was challenged for us
because not only we were inexperienced, but also it was very difficult in terms of
acting and singing. Thus, we had put extra efforts and time on it. We need to practice
day after day in summer holiday and make countless sacrifices for this musical. This
was the first time I invested so much energy and time to do something.
In the rehearsals, we had learnt how to sing dramatically with somebody
movements, importance of body structure, to name a few. However, the most
rememberable thing was we once need to consider we should perform the show in
musical or in concert because we were far behind the schedule. We struggled quite a
long time about that. At last, we decided to perform it in musical. I think that was a
turning point for us. It was because we put more effort on it as we felt if we don’t do
so, our musical we become failure.
6th Nov 2008, the day before the first show, we went to the auditorium in Tsuen
Wan Town Hall, which the musical took place there. I found amazed because I can
step on the stage with settings! Immediately, we dressed up and start the final
rehearsal. Although we start the rehearsal from noon to night, we just finished half
of the rehearsal. We worried about that because we may not finish the final
rehearsal.
Next day, I felt very tired because I just can sleep only 6 hours. We dressed up
again and continue the final rehearsal. Luckily we got that finished. Finally, the show
started, we grouped together and wish to have good show. When I went out to the
stage which was blackout. I felt very nervous because this is my first time to perform
a musical. The music started and my fear disappeared because I felt very touching.
