Directions for ______’s Pump

(directions are for the Animas Ping insulin pump)

* To lock and unlock the pump, press and hold the arrow buttons down
simultaneously

* To Bolus for Food:

1. Unlock the pump.
2. Menu should be highlighted (if not, use arrow buttons to highlight
it), press OK.
3. Bolus should be highlighted, press OK.
4. Press down arrows to EZ Carb, press OK when highlighted.
5. Use arrows to put in the # of carb grams eaten, press OK.
6. Press down arrows until Show Result is highlighted, press OK.
7. Look at the total shown. Press arrow up so the totals match.
8. Press OK.
9. Go will be highlighted. Make sure totals match. Press OK.
10. Do not press any buttons while insulin is being delivered.
11. Lock the pump.
** It will ask you to add BG. NEVER enter a BG lower than 150. If BG is
above 150, we will correct the BG BEFORE she eats and then cover the
carbs eaten after she has finished eating.
* Sweet's target bg is 150. However, we don't want the pump subtracting carbs in order to bring her UP to 150 if
she's between 80-150. You may or may not want this step.
* To Correct a High BG
1. Unlock Pump.
2. Menu should be highlighted. Press OK.
3. Bolus should be highlighted. Press OK.
4. Press down arrows to EZ BG. Press OK when it is highlighted.
5. Use arrow buttons to put in the BG. Press OK.
6. You will get a High BG alert. Press OK.
7. Highlight Show Result. Press Ok.
8. Use arrows to put in the correct amount. Press OK.
9. Make sure the amount you entered matches the suggested amount.
10. Press Ok.
11. Go should be highlighted. Press Ok.
12. Do not press buttons while insulin is being delivered.
13. Lock the pump.
