This program is designed to "Train and Certify" law enforcement, corrections, sheriffs,constables, and security, personnel in the safe, correct, and legal use of Brite-Strike
®
 Tactical Illuminations Flashlight for Self-Defense. Please refer to our Civilian section, forBrite-Strike
®
training for personal use and protection.This training teaches an officer how to use the Tactical Lights in a safe and reliablemanner. After successful completion of both practical and written tests, the officer iscertified in its proper use for a two (2) year period.Many departments and agencies once using this program will notice less "Use-of-Force"complaints being filed against them. While Tactical Illumination practices are not a "cureall," it is a valuable tool that provides an additional "non-injurious" level of force for lawenforcement professionals. Unlike OC, Tactical Illumination techniques have no longterm effects and is easily effective and safe and no need for decontamination or exposureissues.
Why should someone become certified?
Not being certified in the use of a Brite-Strike
®
Illumination Flashlight is a majorliability concern, for anyone using High Intensity Lighting and Self Defense Practiceswhile on duty. It is highly recommended that anyone carrying the Brite-Strike
®
 Illumination System while "on duty" be certified in the use of Brite-Strike
®
(TIDS)Tactical Illuminations Defense System. This insures, among other things, that the officerknow how to use the Tactical Lights by Brite-Strike
®
correctly.

Training Objectives:Upon completion of the TIDS
 
Tactical Illumination Defense System Basic Course,each student will be able to do the following:
Identify the effects of High Intensity White Light on human beings whendispersed in day and night form.
Define a "chemical irritant" and a "chemical inflammatory" and where they arelocated on a Use of Force chart in respect to the use of non-lethal force.
Demonstrate a proper stance and position of the body when holding a Brite-Strike
®
unit in the hand for use of potential use with all techniques taught in theTIDS Basic Certification Course.
Deliver verbal directions or commands to combative subjects while holding aBrite-Strike
®
product unit in the hand or using at high intensity, low intensity andstrobe.
Accurately us High Intensity Illumination at two-second or multiple two-secondbursts or Strobe at physically combative subjects to quickly disorientate.
