SUPERIOR COURT OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA Criminal Division - Felony Branch ITED STATES OF AMERICA v Case No. 2011 CF2'2615 JASON SHORTER, Next Event: 3/4/2011 Ascertainment of Counsel Defendant. : MOTION TO CHANGE PRETRIAL MONITORING ADDRESS Defendant Jason Shorter, by and through undersigned counsel, respectfully asks this Court to allow him to change his home address in the High Intensity Supervision Program (HISP). In support of this Motion, Mr. Shorter submits the following: 1. Mr. Shorter was arrested in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 12, 2011 in the 900 block of 14th Street, N.W. Later that day, he was arraigned on the charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and instructed to report to Room C301 on February 14, 2011 to be interviewed for HISP. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 8, 2011. _ On February 14, 2011, Mr. Shorter did report to Room C301 and was found eligible to participate in HISP. Because he had not yet retained an attomey, this Court set an Ascertainment of Counsel Hearing for March 4, 2011. 3, Since that time security concerns at his present verified address have arisen and Mr. Shorter seeks this Court’s leave to change this address. 4. Although Mr. Shorter could conceivably raise this issue at his next hearing, the length of time between now and then has implored Mr. Shorter to file the instant Motion, WHEREFORE, Mr. Shorter respectfully requests this Court grant him leave to allow the Pretrial Services Agency to verify a different home address, Respectfully Submitted, Kristin L.
