Doing what you need to do.

I hear you’ve been asking

For your father
Who died when you were 17;

You are 45 and your newest grandbaby

is sleeping in your arms.

We were, all of us, shocked

In September when
We heard it was terminal cancer –

Why do we call it “terminal”?

Is this a bus station -
Or the airport?

and will you be coming back?
