Thinking ahead…. As the months close in on our upcoming move to Cameroon, we have begun
making more specific plans about our time there. Our first few months will be spent visiting the capital city
Yaoundé, Ngaoundéré (the closest large city where the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon offices are),
and the village of LBT co-workers Martin and Joan Weber who have served in Cameroon for close to 30 years.
We will also visit Galim to decide which house to live in and begin doing the necessary repairs. During our first
term of 2.5-3 years, we will be focusing on learning two languages: Fulfulde (which we will use primarily in the
market place and to communicate with those who do not speak French or Nizaa) and Nizaa. We will also be
learning how to function as an American family living in Cameroon and building relationships with those around
us. Please keep praying for our housing situation in the village of Galim, that we might be able to find suitable
housing near Nizaa speakers.
Partnership Development
We have already had the opportunity to visit four churches as well as our alma
mater (Valparaiso University) and meet so many wonderful people. We are
looking forward to sharing with more of you in the coming months. Here is the
list of places we will be this fall. Please pray for the Lord to move in churches’
and individuals’ hearts to support our ministry. If your small group or church
would like us to come and visit, we still have several mid-week dates available.
