 As far as possible relevant details to the program you’re applying for
 What the reply should not include
 Elaborate/ intimate details of your family
 Indiscreet revelations about yourself/ Your bad habits
 No cooked-up/stereotypical PI traits (self-motivated,team player etc..)

2. Why do you want to do an MBA

 What the reply should include


 Reasons as to how an MBA fits into your career plans
 How it’ll complement your existing skill sets
 Any subjective reason like stagnation in job/career shift
 Some mention of a yearning to understand business holistically (only if you can pull it off!!)
 What the reply should not include
 Overt mention of remuneration as the sole motivating factor
 Management jargons unless you are very sure that they are apt

3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years/ 10 years?

 What the reply should include


 Realistic predictions based on your current standing
 Statements that show you have focus and know what you want
 Any aspirations which are not well –thought of or for which you cannot show any
preparatory work
 Difficult but attainable goals
 What the reply should not include
 Flamboyant assertions that you cannot convince the panel of
 Flippant remarks showing a couldn’t-care-less attitude

 Relevant facts about the institute, showing you have done your home-work.
 Some mention of how the college is going to help you realize your career goals.
 Statements to show how the college is one of the best options you have in front of you.
 What the reply should not include
 Casual remarks
 Exaggerated claims about the college

 What the reply should include


 Your qualities that are evident and can be easily deduced from your CV/profile
 Attributes that are in sync with whatever you have whatever you’ve presented yourself as
 What the reply should not include
 Exaggerated claims about yourself
 Any qualities that is irrelevant to the applied program or your career.

6. What are your weaknesses?

 What the reply should include


 Honest and yet pardonable/often-found weaknesses
 What you are doing to overcome that weakness
 What the reply should not include
 Any disturbing/repulsive habit that you may have
 Any nonchalance indicating you are proud of that negative trait
