You have asked for the full cost ofthe office of the Lord Mayor. “I would like to
request the folal cost and also the itemised cost under the following headings
for thelast 5 years
1. The extra allowance that the councilor fufling the role of Lord Mayor
RESPONSE: The Lord Mayor Is appointed for a one year term of office at the
‘Annual Council meeting in May each year. The allowance paid to the Lord
Mayor ‘or the past 5 municipal years is as follows:-

RESPONSE: We have one civic car, which is currently a Volw $80 DS,
leased on a 3 year contract. Leasing and petrol costs aro as follows. The

RESPONSE: There is no separate clothing allowance.
5. Expenses for food for the Lord Mayor and food and hospitality for guests
of the Lord Mayor.
RESPONSE: The cost of providing hospitality to quests received in the Lord
Mayor's Suite is as follows. Guests range from visiting cignitaries to
‘community groups and schoolchildren. These figures do not cover the cost of
hospitality for major civic events such as Remembrance Sunday and Civic
‘Sunday.
