many hats; dentist, farmer, jazz drummer, canoeist,mentor, loving husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. WM was a 5th generation Stocktonian. Hegraduated from Victory School and from Stockton HighSchool. He attended Davis Ca and Washington State
College of Physicians and Surgeons, a dental school in
clinic at San Joaquin County General Hospital. He wasalways advancing his knowledge of dentistry. In 1950 hewas called to the war in Korea. In 1954 he bought landand planted a cherry orchard on Eight Mile Road andbuilt the home where he passed away Dec. 31. He wasa founder of the San Joaquin Dixieland Jazz Society. Heopened several Stockton Ports Baseball seasons withhis beloved Mudville's Finest Jazz Band. When he couldno longer travel and canoe he wrote two books, oneabout his great grandfather Reason McConnell, whoshot the outlaw Black Bart. His second book was abouthis canoe trip up the Inland Passage to Alaska with hisfriend Martin Moore.He was a 46 year member of the Linden Lions Club.Left to mourn his passing his wife of 52 years,Eunice; brother Wilke of Florence, OR; children: SusanBruce (Ben) of Maui, Michael of Chico, William of Arizona,Tim and James of Stockton; grandchildren: Joey Ratto,Dee Dee Ratto, Michalyn Renwick, Katy Green, JoshuaRenwick and Rachael Renwick; niece Maggie Kennedy;nephew Wilke Renwick and 5 great grandchildren.There will be a celebration of his life on March 13,"His Birthday" 1 p.m. at The Waterloo Gun and BocciClub, 4343 N. Ashley Lane, Stockton.
