Adult Division
 Four (4) Person Team- 500-1000 piece puzzle. Open to ages 15 and up. Entry fee $200.00
 Two (2) Person Team- approximately 300-750 piece puzzle. Open to ages 15 and up. Entry fee $100.00
 Two (2) Person 3D Team- approximately 200 piece 3D puzzle. Open to ages 15 and up. Entry fee $100.00
 Individual Competition- 300-550 piece puzzle. Open to ages 15 and up. Entry fee $50.00
Student Division
 Two (2) Person Team (Elementary School Division) approximately 200-250 piece puzzle. Open to 3rd through
5th grade students. Entry fee is $100.00
 Two (2) Person Team (Middle School Division) approximately 300-500 piece puzzle. Open to 6th through 8th
grade students. Entry fee is $100.00

Entry fees after tournament expenses are considered donations to The Play Place.
Official Rules and Prizes
The Play Place is Central Illinois newest Children’s Museum. We focus on children from birth to six
years old, but all children are welcome. The Play Place is applying to be a 501(c)3 organization,
therefore donations are not tax deductible at this time.
Basic Details
Date of Tournament: March 26, 2011
Time: 1:00-5:00PM. Puzzling will begin at 1:00PM even if not all members of a team are present. All
puzzling must end at 5:00PM. Awards will be presented immediately following the tournament.
Sponsors
Corporate sponsors will be sent a Certificate of Appreciation after the competition. During the tournament,
there will be a sign at the team’s table indicating the sponsor with your business name and logo, if
supplied. There will also be a large sign at the entry thanking all our sponsors.
Who Can Compete
The tournament is open to anyone 9 years old and up. The Adult Division is open to those 15 and up. The
Elementary Division is open to children in third through fifth grade. The Middle School Division is for
children in sixth through eighth grade.
Puzzle Information
Four person adult teams will piece together 500-1000 piece puzzles.
Two person adult teams will piece together 300-750 piece puzzles.
Two person adult 3D teams will piece together 200 piece puzzles.
Individual competitors will piece together 300-550 piece puzzles.
Elementary school teams will piece together 200-250 piece puzzles.
Middle school teams will piece together 300-550 piece puzzles.
*Teams will compete in the division that the oldest member qualifies for. Example: If a 5th
grader and a 6th grader want to compete together, they would register for the Middle School
Division.
Snacks
Bottled water will be provided, other snacks will be available.
Winners
Winners will be determined for each division by the following methods:
-First, second and third place by puzzle completion in the shortest amount of time.
-First, second and third place by the team with the greatest amount of puzzle completed in the allotted
amount of time. The judges will count the number of pieces left and continuous sections pieced.
Prizes - Adult Divisions (First, second and third for each division: Four person
teams, two person teams, two person 3D and individuals)
First Place- Each team member will receive a certificate and prize.
Second and Third Place- Each team member will receive a certificate.
Prizes - Student Divisions (Middle School and Elementary School)
First Place- The team will receive a traveling trophy for display at the school. Each team member will
receive a certificate and ribbon.
Second and Third Place- Each team member will receive a certificate of accomplishment.
