Eating Our Talk
Grow where you're planted; root where you're sown,And if you have an issue, then let it be knownEven if its the kitchen of a fancy hotelIt's time to give them some gentle ole hell.So we went to the banquet to order our mealAnd found cooks were frantic from vegan appeal. For good old earth food we'd wait quite a whileBut we're those whose lifestyle has gone thru the trialOf learning not to take what is more than our share-And of teaching thru living that veggies are fair. Now staff is aware; we've made it quite clearThat eating high on the food chain is not without peer!

If we are to be peace makers, bridgebuilders, we must build trust.Societies are made not of laws, but of trust. Without trust, no amount of negotiating will work, andenforcement will produce onlybacklash. This is not the time to beoverly concerned about enforceablemeasures in international law.

Role of Military Pollution
Though the Palme, Brandt,Brundtland, and Stockholm Initiativereports and Sweden's Inga Tharsson allcall attention to the role of the militaryuse of resources and energy in thedestruction of the environment, USAdministration officials have decreedthat this subject be kept from theagenda of UNCED. UNCED USAmbassador Ryan and his Presidentneed to hear from us, our media andour candidates. Turn this decisionaround!

Many military leaders of the 20
century have warned politicians thatwar, in this nuclear age, is no longer avalid option for conflict resolution.Veterans for Peace want us tounderstand that the global structure forwar is the greatest single impediment towhat this assembly seeks to accomplish.

Have name cards for workshoppanelists, since they seem to oftennot be as printed and call eachother by first names only.

Personal Habits/ Consumption
In my opinion, each and all of usmust overcome the single-use/ disposable mentality that iscrushingly prevalent inindustrialized countries. We mustnot only recycle, but pre- andpost-cycle all the products we buy. Please, be particularly aware of plastics and excessive/ individualized packaging! Wash outand reuse all that you can! Carrycontainers with you! Support otherswho do! Review your own habitsand live up to our globally urgentprinciples!

Consolidate individual grass rootsefforts into larger structures whichwill eventually infiltrate andbecome the new government basedon rediscovered values. Find themechanisms or change the existingmechanisms to reach this goal.Listen to the 2-4 year olds and don'tlet them enter the educationalsystem as it is now.
