One2One is a free service offered by the Academic Enabling and Support Centre.

Notre Dame students can have a free 30 minute session with an experienced lecturer who can offer
help with study related issues.

 




Drop into the AESC (the blue-grey building, ND44, opposite the main admin building on Mouat Street) and fill out the self referral form.
We do not make appointments by 'phone or email, only through the use of the self referral form. Our Success Now! and one2one
coordinator Jane Mangano will then be in touch to see how we can help.

Demand for this service is high, and we'll give you an immediate indication of how and when we can help. We process all self-referral
forms on a 'first come, first served' basis.

The one2one service is designed to supplement the "Success Now!" workshops, and we may direct you to attend a forthcoming workshop
prior to having a private session. For example, if a student requested help on getting organised, we'd expect them to attend one of the
'time management' sessions prior to having a private session.

The one2one service will not edit your assignments for you. We will teach you how to self edit, and we'll work through a section of your
assignment to help you, but we won't do it for a student, as that would be unethical.

If a student cannot make an appointment, they must cancel at least 12 hours in advance. Students who fail to attend, without providing
sufficient notice, may be excluded from gaining access to the service.

If you have a group of friends all seeking the same thing (e.g. everyone needing to know how to use footnote referencing), we'll happily
run a free group session, and for a longer time period. Just request this, along with at least two different times and days the group can
gather, on a self referral form.



 





If there is space, we will see a student for up to 5 sessions per semester. However, if there is heavy demand for places, we encourage
students to different avenues for ongoing support.

FREE workshops covering topics such as:

* Essay writing

* Using library resources

* Note taking

* Help with IT
