With due respect we wish to draw your kind attention (o the above mentioned subject wacrein, as per minutes of captioned R.C Meeting available on CIB website, we find to our surprise and astonishment that our application for registration of Carbosulfan 6%G for indigenous manufacture u/s 9(3) has not been approved “on the basis of safety issues”. From our prior discussions with Secretary, CIB & R.C during the sorutiny of our application; we Ypetieve that the safety concems are around use of a Dye that we propose to-use in the formulation. We have selected a safe food-grade dye (Sunset Yellow No. 6) for use in the granular formulation at a minuscule content of 0.05% lo distinguish the granular produet at the end-user / farmer level from sand (which is the carrier of the ai.) to prevent its misuse and inadvertent accidents in the farms, All the insecticide granular formulations currently available in the market arc approved with some coloring agent. For your kind information the Sunset Yellow Dye No.6 is an approved and permitted food and pharmaceuticals coloring agent by FDA, USA and also in India. In view of the R.C’s decision, we hastened to seek en independent technical opinion of a Medical Toxicologist on the toxicological implications of the referred dye.
