MLIK BIN DNR
M
lik bin D
n
r (left this mortal world in 748 CE or 131 AH) was aTabi·in. He is mentioned as a reliable Traditionist, transmitting fromsuch authorities as Malik bin Anas and Ibn Sirin. He was the son of aPersian slave from Kabul who became a disciple of Hasan al-Basri.He died at the age of ninety in Basrah. In the following anecdote hevividly describes the human worthlessness and at the same timepresents an out-of-this-world glimpse of the beauty of the Hoor al-'Eeyn that

Allah has kept in the Hereafter for His pious servants.THE PRIDE OF A SLAVE GIRL
