Mr. Roger has many more pets.
Can you think of any others?
er ir ur
Clue #1
This is your first clue. Mr. Roger
has many pets, but he only
owns pets that have “er,” “ir,”
or “ur” in their name. He loves
all of his pets dearly, and he is
a wonderful owner, but his
three favorite pets are always
with him no matter where he
goes. Think carefully
as you read and find clues
scattered throughout the room.
As you find each clue, remember
to record your notes.
Clue #2
One of Mr. Roger’s favorites is
named Curly. He is quite shy, and
prefers to keep to himself. Some
people are afraid of him, but in
reality he is actually harmless. He
enjoys taking walks in the park and
napping in the garden area. None of
Mr. Roger’s neighbors understand
why he loves Curly so much, but
they have gotten used to him and
like the fact that he is much quieter
than Buster, another one of Mr.
Roger’s pets.
Clue #3

Another one of Mr. Roger’s

pets is very very sleepy all the
time. She does not like to do
much so she mainly rests on
the couch or patio except when
Buster gets excited and starts
chasing her. Mr. Roger loves
Tiger because she is a great
companion.
Clue #4
Nearly every day Mr. Roger
has to remind this pet to stay
quiet. Mr. Rogers lives alone, and
he loves this pet because
he’s a great conversationalist.
Sometimes even when Mr. Roger
says, “That’s enough talking,” this
pet keeps on going and going and
going! Sometimes when Mr. Roger
has had enough conversation, he
just opens the cage and lets this
fellow fly around for a bit.
Clue #5
Mr. Roger’s mother often visits, and
even though she loves his animals,
she has allergies. When she visits,
Mr. Rogers always sends one of his pets
to the vet. If he didn’t his
poor mother would be sneezing
every moment of her visit. His mother
is still a bit frightened by
Curly, Especially since she was startled on
her last visit while gardening. He was
napping while she was planting flowers,
and Mr. Roger heard quite a bit of
commotion when he woke up! The last
time she visited one of Mr. Roger’s pets
drove her crazy! He just kept on
repeating everything she said.
