RESPONSIVEED Job Description Job Description: Instructional Aide ~ Premier High School of North Texas Job Corps Reports to: Teacher FLSA: Non-exempt Primary Purpose: To assist the teacher with monitoring of the learning center and facilitating students’ learning progress. Qualifications: Education/Certification A minimum of passing the THEA required for Highly Qualified status. Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college preferred 2 years college minimum required. Six months to one year related experience or training preferred. Teacher's Certificate recommended but not required. Year-round instructional aides for remedial math (1 opening and reading (3 openings); Candidates with ESL certification are encouraged to apply. Special Knowledge/Skills: ‘© Abilty to work with children, love for children and leaming ‘Ability to follow verbal and writen instructions ‘© Abilty to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Experionce: Experience working with children preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Support 1 2 3. 4. Assist teacher in all areas of work. Assist students with academics. Distribute lesson paks or assign computer lessons to students. Grade student tests. Enter scores on Student Progress Records. Motivate students for maximum learning. 9. Assist in maintaining discipline in classroom. 10. Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. 11, Inspire students with consistency, care, and interest to build students’ self-esteem, and ‘promote further success. 12. Praise students, compliment them and encourage them in order to build character. 13, Utilize a variety of leaming methods to enhance the students’ leaming experience.
