Class Prophecy

The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given

a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.

- Tom Bodett

Nobody expects much from this group of people. Nobody actually knows where to find
success from a mischievous student; nobody really imagined what life has to bring from
such a class named after St. Benedict. As most of the teachers may recall after the next ten
years, they portray a picture of joy and fun, but that’s it. That’s it until each of them has set
foot their own paths as a citizen and as a better person.

Who would have thought that the Philippines’ finest five-star hotel, Stefan, is owned by the
Yabut family having Stephen Yabut as the CEO? His success is followed by more
businessmen like Raymond Chu, Resort Owner, Miguel Nestor Andre Sikat, Reynaldo
Zapanta and Dianne Grace Agbada, Restaurant Owners. Thanks to Charles Brian
Barela and Christan Jay Cansilao, their financial mentors who helped them made what
they are today.

Now, after ten years, the batch is happy to have its first reunion at Sikat Restaurant.
Among the first to come at Sikat Restaurant, aside from the above entrepreneurs and
financial consultants are the successful business managers, Austin Paolo Francisco,
Rebecca Domingo and Lois Dianne Enciso, and lawyer Frances Alexander Fullero.

They were followed by Computer Programmer Gerardo Francisco, Computer Engineer

John Kenneth Gamboa, Communications Engineer Neil John Herrera, and Chemical
Engineer Mark Ceazer Torres.

Carlven Joseph Ventura, Jenny Lyin Estremera, Clarissa Pronto and Marissa
Tanquiliut, Researcher, Animator, Broadcaster and Comic Artist, respectively, arrived
together as they all work in one network broadcasting company.

The medical doctors had to come in late as they had to attend to different emergency
situations, John Sylvester Leano, General Surgeon, Joana Marie Demonteverde, OB-
Gynecologist, and Clifford Dale Vasquez, Anesthesiologist. The Physical Therapist
Joanna Mey Azarcon is lucky enough not to have other compromises so as to make her on
time for the event.

The Operations Manager of the Yabut family, Genel Javier, had troubles with his car on his
way to the airport. He had to ask his friend, Aldrin Dinglasan, Mechanical Engineer, for
opinion on what could have happened to his car. Surprisingly, Jeffrey Revatoris, Civil
Engineer saw the two on their way to Sikat Restaurant. Joining Jeffrey in the same
profession are Aryan Catanyag, Aaron Orias, Glenn Paredes and Juan Villanueva.
The other Operations Manager of the Yabut Family is Miguel Carlo Collantes.

While everybody is excited to see each other after ten years, there are others who were not
able to make due to unavoidable and understandable reasons. Topping this list is our

diplomat, Marivic Simsiman, who represents the country overseas as Ambassador to

Eqypt. Also, our stewardesses Mara Andion Allen, Marelle Aleine De Leon, Jailine
Salvatierra, Ma Jeanne Nicole Sulit, and Maria Catherine Aurora Torres who had
scheduled flights on that day did not make it. The others who were not there are Joshua
John Bringas and Vincent Chin Dungca who became famous NBA players. James
Aldrin Muriel, who is a PBA player, had a schedule game on that day while another proud
sportsman, Marvin Relloma, competes for world chess championship. And last but
certainly not the least, our overseas contract worker Miguel Carlo Collantes, who work as
a Chef in one of the leading hotels in the United Kingdom.
