Fully state the standard in bold text. Then write a paragraph explaining your knowledge and understanding of the standardput the standard into your own words.
This standard is about I as a teacher will be reflective throughout my educational career. I willevaluate my decisions and actions and how they affect my students, parents, fellow teachers, aswell as my administrators. I will use the resources that I have available for reflectionfor example, observers or students test results, to evaluate my teaching to ensure that I am providingstudents with the best possible education. I will understand that reflection is essential to growthand improvement. I will also use classroom observation, information about students, knowledgeabout teaching, as well as research to assist in consistent reflection, evaluation, and correction of my practices. I will also participate in professional conversation regarding learningopportunities, support, and development as both a learner and a teacher.2.

Explain how the artifact you chose demonstrates your understanding and application of thestandard.
This artifact is a reflection upon my experience in pre-student teaching. I taught two days/week in a 6
th
grade social studies class, and this reflection was a cumulative reflection upon mysemester there as a whole. By using the opinions of my co-operating teacher, my academic

Ptasienski 2advisor, as well as my students, I was able to reflect upon my instructional strategies to better myfuture career. I reflected upon my assessment and management techniques and how those couldbe improved upon. By doing that, my current instruction is more founded in personalexperiences. I am able to reflect upon the mistakes that I made previously and avoid those samemistakes currently. I can learn from the advice of my previous colleagues and the teaching of my co-operating teacher to glean from his teaching strategies and better my own. By committingmyself to being a lifelong learner, I am able to better develop my teaching strategies and be opento person growth and development.3.

A If the artifact has been used in your practice, reflect on how your teaching will change inthe future to further meet the standard.

B If the artifact has not been used in your practice, i.e., a class assignment, reflect upon howyour teaching will be impacted by the assignment.
This artifact was used last semester to guide my experience this semester and my future as ateacher. I was reflecting upon my time in 6
th
grade and learning form the things that I did well aswell as the things that I did poorly. I learned the importance of reflection during this assignment, and I think it will continue to impact my instruction in the future as well. By being a reflectiveinstructor, I will have more humility in the classroom to learn from colleagues as well as mystudents. This leaves more room for professional development and growth. I think that I willfurther meet this standard by seeking professional development and seeking to get the advice of older instructors in my field. By doing this, I will be widening my view of education and how Ican best benefit the students that are under my supervision.4.

Conclude with a paragraph discussing how you are more prepared to Teach and Learn in aDiverse Society as a result of satisfactorily meeting the standard.
By being reflective, I will learn what works and what doesn’t with diverse student populations. As I learn what is beneficial and what is not, in terms of behavioral strategies, differentiation
