Pancake Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday) is celebrated in many English speaking countries. Thisday is always celebrated on Tuesday - one day before Ash Wednesday. Next day there isthe beginning of Lent. This is the time when we remember the forty days Jesus spent inthe desert.Many years ago during Lent people didn’t eat sugar, butter; milk and eggs. Pancakes aremade of these ingredients so it was last day to eat them.People often spend this day with fun, games and eating pancakes with their families orfriends in homes or restaurants.In many English cities “pancake races" are organized. Participants run and carry thepancake in the frying pans.
