The benefits of peristaltic pumping
Compared to lobe pumps, diaphragmpumps, gear pumps and piston pumps, and every other type of pump, theseare the advantages of Watson-Marlowpumps:1 No contamination of the fluid.2 No contamination of the pump.3 Ideal for shear-sensitive and aggressivefluids.4 Self-priming, dry-running.5 No valves, seals or glands.6 Automatic check valve action preventsbackflow.
Watson-Marlow leads the world in solving fluid handling problems with peristaltic pumping technology. The company is accredited for design and manufacture to ISO9001, and provides its customers with nothing less than the best products, service and knowledge. Watson-Marlow conducts its business ethically, and stands by its word, its recommendations and its products.

Please note the 701R pumphead now accepts only 4.8mm (3/16”) wall thickness tubing. An adaptor kit to convert the pumphead to accept 3.2mm (1/8”) wall thickness tubing is available as product code 079.2001.000.* Please note that Butyl tubing should not be used in pumps running at speeds greater than 100rpm.

Common conversionsFixed speed pumps
700 series pumps are available as completeunits and maximum speeds of 39, 55, 60, 67, 99,121, 140, 155, 240 and 360rpm with an adaptorideal for straight forward fluid transfer.
Variable speed inverter control pumps
Watson-Marlow supply electronically variablespeed pumps with 5:1 or 10:1 speed reductionratios. We have selected as standardaccessories, single phase input /three phaseoutput, 0.75 kW maximum power requirementsinverters for use with 700 series baseplatepumps. The compact construction of the invertercasing is to IP21. A membrane keypad enableseasy control and an RS485 interface facilitatesconnection to a PLC. Programmable binaryinputs and outputs are available along with0/4 - 20mA analogue signal output. The inverters also enable fast motor stopping,auto-restart and slip compensation for highspeed stability. Protection is provided againstover and under voltage, motor overload andover temperature conditions. The inverters aremanufactured to DIN ISO 9001 and carry a oneyear warranty.
Mechanical variable speed pumps
All baseplate pumps can be supplied withmechanical variators which will allow flowcontrol down to 16.5% of maximum speedproviding precise flow rate control for meteringapplications. Motor speeds of 190rpm and250rpm are available with a maximum powerrequirement of 0.37kW.
Flameproof pumps
All pumps are available fitted with Exd IIB T4specification explosion proof standards. Thefixed speed pumps have maximum speeds of39, 55, 60, 67, 99, 140, 155, 240 and 360rpm andthe variable speed pumps 190rpm and 250rpm.Specially selected combinations of explosionproof motors and electronic inverters areavailable. These inverters are not fitted withexplosion proof casing and therefore must besited outside the hazardous area.
Operating and storage temperatures
Unless otherwise stated, all pumps listed in thisbrochure may be operated at ambienttemperatures between 5C and 40C (41F and104F). They may be stored at temperaturesbetween -40 and 70C (-40F and 158F), but allowtime for acclimatisation before operating.
Flow rates
All flow rates quoted in this brochure wereobtained pumping water at 20C (68F) with zerosuction and delivery heads.
Drive configurations
All 700 series pumps are available fromWatson-Marlow as complete, ready to run, motorised pumps with a two year warranty. Each pump supplied by Watson-Marlow is afully assembled, ready to run unit, or a B/Rbaseplate mounted bareshaft pump, whichcomply with all relevant EU (European Unit)safety directives and carry the relevant CEmark or declaration of incorporation.
