These sound ordinances cut off a locality's nose to spite its face. Music and vibrant cultural events bring*money* to Albemarle county, and people who come and spend spread the word!

Farm wineries are having a difficult time surviving the current economic downturn. This is evidenced inKluge's bankruptcy. As long as Keswick is going out of their way to reduce noise during events, invitedCounty supervisors, law enforcement officials and others to review and observe in progress events for compliance (as has been the case) than Keswick should be able to continue their music-themed events.

Virginia is becoming a national/international agri-tourism destination because of the wineries. Theygenerate jobs, pay taxes, have beautiful environments, foster safe, fun, positive events, bring peopletogether and enhance communities. Events generate money and are critical for the wineries' survival.Keswick is a respectable and responsible business and has already met the county noise ordinancerequirements. It's time to move on and let them run their business. Let's hope the county supervisors cansee through this nonsense and not let one "sour grape" ruin it for everyone.

A subjective noise standard, like the 100 foot proposal, will lead to uneven enforcement and eventual
