In the lasttwo years, Arab-Israelis have experienced ree access toPalestinian cities in the West Bank including Jenin, Nab-lus, Hebron, Qalqilya, ulkarem, Bethlehem and Jericho.In 2010 over 3.3 million people have taken advantage o this new opportunity. More than 100 road blocks were re-moved in 2010, and currently only 16 checkpoints remain,enabling routine journeys between the cities o the WestBank. Furthermore, working hours at the Gilboa check-point have been extended in order to allow Arab-Israelisto enter in the evenings, while the ulkarem crossings (viaRoute 6) are now available.

According to estimates by nancial bureaus in the Pales-tinian Authority and the Civil Administration, these mea-sures contributed to signicant economic growth in 2010,including the the infux o over 800,000,000 NIS (over 225million USD) to Palestinian cities.Additional economic growth indicators include a 9%growth rate in GNP in 2010. Israeli Arabs entering intothese cities contributed approximately 5.5% percent o thetotal GDP. Tousands o news shops opened in Palestin-ian cities in 2010, including 600 new businesses opened inJenin alone.*Te entertainment sector has refected the immensegrowth o 2010. wo large amusement parks have in-creased in popularity, one in Jenin and the other in ulka-rem. Other visitor sites include a zoo in Qalqilya, a waterpark in Jericho, and scores o other attractions which arenot only unctional, but thriving.Tese businesses operate in complete cooperation withIsraeli traders and entities, as it proves protible and ben-ecial. A noted example o such cooperation is the trans-er o animals rom the ‘Saari’ in Ramat Gan to the zoo inQalqilya. During the course o the Muslim Eid al-Adhah,just the zoo in Qalqilya and ‘Mega Land’ in ulkaremeach saw over 100,000 visitors (according to local businessowners). Notably, a signicant proportion o these visitorswere Israeli-Arabs.Troughout the past year, Condence Building Measureswere gradually instituted by Israel. Te primary goal wasto stimulate economic growth in the West Bank or thelocal Palestinian population. Authorizing the entry o Is-raeli-Arabs into Palestinian cities along with the expansiono working hours at the crossings are just a ew exampleso the success o institutionalizing Condence BuildingMeasures in the West Bank in 2010.
