Description

This paper presents some key information about the organization theory as a scientific research program by reviewing the related literature. After equipped with some sense of organization theory, the outline of dimensions in arraying the various theories and some concerns in evaluating the theory and methodology, it pays more attention to the population ecology of organization which deals with the study of populations of organizations. The discussion may be useful for those interested in understanding and exploring the challenges in the organization theory. Finally, it poses some questions for future discussion which may result in further contribution to the body of knowledge in this field.
