M.Sc. Bioinformatics (CGPA)
School of Technology,SRTMUN Sub-Centre, Latur
M.Sc. Bioinformatics (CGPA) degree builds the student for higher studies in Bioinformatics andto be competent with the current race with the development of new computational technologies. The duration of the study is four semesters, which is normally completed in two years. Theprimary goal of bioinformatics is to increase our understanding of biological processes. Whatsets it apart from other approaches, also, it is focus on developing and applying computationallyintensive techniques (e.g., computer aided drug design, systems biology, pattern recognition, data mining, machine learning algorithms, and visualization) to achieve this goal. Major researchefforts in the field include sequence alignment, gene finding, genome assembly, drug design, drug discovery, protein structure alignment, protein structure prediction, prediction of geneexpression and protein-protein interactions, genome-wide association studies and the modelingof evolution.
Presently the School conducts M.Sc. Bioinformatics (CGPA) Post-Graduate Courses as per CGPA = CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGEA Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is the mean Grade Point Average (GPA) from allacademic terms within a given academic year, whereas the GPA may only refer to one term.Courses
