The YMCA of Northern Michigan and Meijer invite the kids of northern Michigan to lace up their basketball shoes, gather theirfriends and join us for a day of fun at the 2011 3 on 3 BasketballTournament. Girls and boys in grades 3 and up are welcome to puttogether a team for the area’s best one day hoops event.Meijer is partnering with the Y for the second year to host the3on3 tourney that draws participants from 10 counties. “Meijer’scommitment of helping our community become a better place tolive, work and play, is the foundation of our partnership” said Jen-nifer Crockett, YMCA Program Director. “All the proceeds fromthis event goes toward providing Y programs for youth throughoutnorthern Michigan.”

Thank you so much for your support of the 2010JC Penney Afterschool Round-Up events! With yourhelp, we raised more than $5,300 to support yourlocal YMCA afterschool programs. During JC Pen-ney Afterschool Round-Up, customers are invited toround the amount of their purchase up to the nearestwhole dollar and donate the difference to the YMCAof Northern Michigan. The funds raised will help theYMCA provide hundreds of children in your commu-nity, life-enriching afterschool programs that inspirethem to be smart, strong and socially responsible. The First Tee provides programs for youth ages 5 to 17 teachinglife skills through the game of golf at Boyne Highlands.Three-week and one-week programs are available this summer.Youth will learn about the game of golf including the rules,skills as well as how to act on the golf course. They will alsoexperience how values such as respect, honesty andcondence will help them achieve success not only at golf,but at home and school as well.

d yourdays at Camp Petosega! The YMCA of Northern Michigan inpartnership with Emmet County Parks and Recreation is offeringa summer day camp for northern Michigan communities. Theday camp is full of fun, educational and exciting projects, gamesand eld trips the kids will love. Camp Petosega offers naturetrails, sandy beaches, sport courts, grassy open areas, re ringand clean indoor area for indoor activities with indoor restrooms.Summer Camp is Monday through Friday 9:00am-3:30pm,with extended care options of 8:00am-5:30pm. We offer10 weeks throughout the summer starting June 20th forcampers 6-14 years old. Campers may sign up for as manyweeks as t into their summer schedule.
