The Bible and God’s Creation
Genesis 1:1-31, 2:15, Job 38:1-21Read out loud, together or individually by line, the Gen-esis scripture passages. What do these passages say aboutGod’s Creation and God’s relationship with Creation? What do the passages say about humankind’s relationshipwith Creation?
SeSSion 1
od created an Earth that God declared “good,”one that works as an interconnected whole. The workings o God’s creation are both won-derous and complex. And, the workings o theatmosphere and the carbon cycle are no excep-tions. Climate change is a hot topic today, but not every-one understands the issue. This activity is designed to helpyour group better understand how our atmosphere works, why it’s heating up, and what impacts global warming ishaving on the planet.
As a result o this session, participants will be able to:
-nected whole
on Earth.
Before the SeSSion
Beore the session starts, review the activity. You’ll be lead-ing a simulation that requires an area or the participantsto move around the room. The simulation doesn’t requireany specifc amount o space or layout, but you shouldevaluate your space beore the session and make a plan orhow you’ll lay out the room or the simulation. You willneed at least seven participants or the simulation. Des-ignate one side o the room as the “surace o the sun,”and the other side o the room as the “Earth.” The area inbetween is “the atmosphere.” The area between the “sur-ace o the sun” and the “Earth” should be clear o any obstacles such as tables or chairs.
