1st November to 11th November 2000.
The Flood event which occurred inNovember 2000 had a return periodestimated to be 1 in 80 to 90 years.In November 2000 York suffered itsworst floods since records began sometime in the 17th century. The water wasover six metres higher than it should havebeen and came within five centimetres ofbreaching York's flood defences.
