The man rises and sprints to the house. In one fluid motion, he pulls out the contract and dagger and stabs it into place on the door. Hearing a sound, he crouches and turns. A securityguard appears and the man subdues him quickly, injecting him with drugs to keep him under.He puts the man in a bag, pushes it into a corner hidden by shrubs and activates an imager. Theimager reflects the environment around it, making the bag disappear. The man removes his cat suit and dons the uniform of the grounds security. Glancing about to make sure of hissurroundings, he raises the cell phone to his lips.
14, this is unit 2. There’s been a breach of security at the main house. Respondimmediately!
The entire estate is flooded with light. The man slips away into the shadows. Lightsappear in the mansion. Senator Patrick Stanton emerges from his bedroom, tying the belt of hishousecoat around his plumb waist. Jeremy, his butler, meets him in the hallway.
Jeremy, what the hell is going on?
Security breach. Sir, I don’t think it is wise for you to be about right now.
This is my house, Jer. I’m not letting some petty thief send me shaking and hiding in mybedroom.
Stanton scurries down the stairs. He’s 55, a tall, overweight man with remnants of hisathlete past in his shoulders. He strides across the marble foyer, Jeremy trotting behind. Thefront door swings open before he can reach it, the security sergeant standing before him. In hishands are the contract and the dagger. Behind the sergeant stand other security guards.

Stanton shoves the paper into Jeremy’s chest. Jeremy reads over the contract and hisjaw drops.
