Kelantan. He planted a lot of paddy, vegetables and fruit trees.
He also kept many animals. Other villagers built their houses
on a hill behind his land.
Although he was rich, Tok Lalang was very selfish. He would not allow the villagers to use the river. He built a high fence between his land and the village. The villagers had to use a pump to draw water from wells for their daily needs. They were very angry with him, but there was nothing they could do. One day, it rained heavily. It continued to rain heavily for several days. On the seventh day, the river overflowed and flooded the land beside it. Tok Lalang could not get out of his house.
