Page 2 of 3 ‘Dear Mayor Heartwell, (On April 21, 2009 at the conclusion of the City Commission meeting I hand delivered two separate letters to you: one dealing With Transparency in Government and the other dealing with the May Sth "Silver Line" millage ballot proposal. The following are three paragraphs of the letter dealing with the millage ballot proposal (On May 5 the voters in the cities of Grand Rapids, East Grand Rapids, Grandville, Walker, Kentwood and Wyoming are being asked to approve a 1.28-mill tax for the “Rapid” bus system which will create a network of 19 bus stations extending 9.9 miles from 60th Street northward to Mi | would like the opportunity to: [1] Review the report that determined thatthe “Silver Line” could create 1,400 housing units along just one stretch of Division [and] The Rapid estimates the project will create 405 jobs in construction, transit, retail and food service at an average wage of $37,000 per year.” [Grand Rapids Press, April 13, 2009 at page A-4] [2] Review all documents and communications of whatever nature received by or sent by any Grand Rapids city employee, elected official(s) or any person or organization working on their behalf or direction which are directly ot indirectly related vis-i-vis 1 this May 5, 2009 ballot proposal or to the construction of this or any other bus line which would travel within the City of Grand Rapids, Are you going to be responding to these paragraphs? ‘The last paragraph in my letter dealing with "Transparency in Government" was as follows; "Therefore I am requesting that in the spirit of "transparency" you release your 2009 Federal and State State income tax returns and all documents relating thereto." ‘Are you going to be responding to this request?
