perspective.
A man fought jihad against the Soviets in Afghanistan until he realised how extremists had hijacked the

family in the tsunami of 2004, but he was joyfully shocked by finding a new wife and starting a new
family. A woman in Australia is traumatised by a mass murder, losing her musical abilities, but she

thought in "Africa in Progress".
Every day Africa’s forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Scientists say that cutting trees leads to
deforestation and this eventually leads to extreme weather conditions, including floods and drought.
Deforestation also deprives people of their livelihoods.
In this edition, four African climate change experts discuss why it is important for us to protect our
trees and what would happen if we continue cut down our forest cover in Africa.

"Fresh Air" with Terry Gross, the Peabody Award-winning weekday magazine of contemporary arts
and issues, is one of public radio's most popular programmes. Though "Fresh Air" has been categorised
as a "talk show", it hardly fits the mould. Its 1994 Peabody Award citation credits "Fresh Air" with
"probing questions, revelatory interviews and unusual insights". A variety of top publications count
Gross among America's leading interviewers. The show gives interviews as much time as needed, and
complements them with comments from well-known critics and commentators.

has been coordinating the campaign for 5 years, estimates that hundreds of millions of people from
over 5 thousand cities across the world will symbolically turn off lights. This year, Earth Hour steps
into a new state called Beyond the Hour.

Convention and winner of the Europa 2009 Cultural Award, presented by KulturForum Europa.
In late January, following the Hollywood model, the Walk of Fame was created in Bucharest, to honour
great Romanian actors while they are still alive. So on Sunday you will learn who are the first actors to
be awarded a star on the Romanian walk of fame. All about this on this week's "Inside Romania".
