Media Release ~
On 3/29/11 at 12:10 P.M., The same officer was advised of a second victim at
1600 E. Broadway in reference to a sexual misconduct report. The female victim
reported a suspect later identified as Lorne Beers jumped out of his car while she
was walking from work to her vehicle. The female victim reported the suspect
chased her around her vehicle, tried to grab her and made an inappropriate
sexual statement. The victim provided the officer with the license plate number of
the suspect which checked to Beers.
Officer’s located the suspect, Lorne Beers near Providence Road and Broadway
intersection. Beers was taken to the Columbia Police Department. Prior to the
booking process, Beers required medical treatment and was released to
University Hospital. The Columbia Police Department applied for the following
warrants on Lorne Beers:
None of the victims were injured in the sexual misconduct cases or the leaving
the scene of an accident cases. Beers is a suspect in the sexual misconduct
case in Mexico, Missouri early in the day on 3/29/11. For Further Questions
