This project will connect the Hamilton Road and I-270 interchange withGahanna’s industrial and commerce area. With the followingbenefits:
Relieve congestion of the 40,000 daily car count at the Morrison andHamilton Intersection by diverting traffic.This will be a positive impact to 295 Businesses and 5,053 Employees.Provide better and shorter access to I-270 and the airport.Provide access to prime locations for commercial and officedevelopment.
 
- 120 Acres in Central Park of Gahanna and 78 Acres of vacant land within I-270 Loop
Provide a link in the city-wide bike trail across I-270.Improved Drive Sequence.
 
• Developments will be visible 130,000 vehicles daily along I-270.
This project will provide access to nearly 200acres of prime land for new developmentand has been in the planning phases foryears. Only through the cooperation of local, state and federal agencies have thefunding of this project become possible.

History of the Project 
 
May of 1998
 
The City investigated alternatives for better connectivity to the industrial area.
 
April of 2000 
The City held a public involvement meeting regarding congestion at Morrison and Hamilton
intersection. 
June of 2000
Engineering began for Tech Center Drive.
 
October 2000
The City applied for a Grant for construction of Tech Center Drive which was not granted.
 
September of 2001
 
ODOT the City conducted an interchange modification study which identified that the I-270ramps would need to be upgraded for Tech Center Drive.
 
April of 2004
The City had an unsuccessful attempt at obtaining TRAC funding
2006 and 2007
Morrison road was improved to accept the future Tech Center Drive on the east side. This wasfunded entirely with local funds.
 
2007
Gahanna was awarded Federal funds for the I-270 ramp modifications. 
2010
The I-270 ramp modifications were constructed.

The total project construction cost is $6,997,560The MORPC attributable federal funds are $5,194,588Gahanna’s contribution for this work was $1,802,972The design and environmental work was a total of $1,002,678
