It is my belief that, while the economic success of New England and England would

not have been possible without money, credit, technological advances, and changes
in agriculture, many other nations also had access to these and did not fare as well.
So I turn to factor driving individual moral change; how the individual himself
relates to his own conscience in order to explain in order to explain relatively swift
changes in the moral climate as a whole, thus opening up unprecedented
opportunities for financial success.
The first step in understanding how a new morality as written down and practiced,
can shape an economy, is to know the effect that morality has on the individual. Max
Weber did an excellent job in attempting to answer this question, I I believe that he
focused too much on the specifics of Protestantism.
