 How to Enjoy Year One

Praise for Rachel Waddilove
Rachel is a wonderful maternity nurse; a perfect addition toany household with a newborn baby because she is thoughtful, kind, calm, cheerful, organized, unobtrusive and very knowledgeable about babies. One of the things that sets herapart from other maternity nurses I’ve known is that she is amother herself, and that makes a big difference. She also hassuch a gentle, understanding nature that she can deal withhighly stressed and hormonal mothers quite brilliantly! Shemanaged to get our baby into a routine of sleeping through thenight very quickly, and that gave some semblance of sanity toeveryone in the house!
Lady Ivar Mountbatten, June 2005
Rachel’s flexible yet structured schedule was just the thing forour daughter. As we travel frequently, we cannot adhere to aschedule that is rigidly strict. Using Rachel’s techniques, Apple was sleeping through the night at a six to seven hour stretch by six weeks. She was able to nap deeply in her cot and in herpram, which afforded me freedom. She was a very happy andsettled baby right from the beginning. I believe this is becauseRachel put us in a routine so that Apple always felt that there was a loving structure around her. She knew what was comingand could look forward to it with certainty. Rachel’s advice oneverything from breastfeeding to parenting was invaluable.
