Where did the word
“robot” come from?
The word 'robot' was coined by the
Czech playwright Karel Capek in his
play “The Rossum’s Universal Robot”
It came from a Czech word “robota”
which means “forced labor”

The first industrial robots were Unimates
developed by George Devol and Joe
Engelberger in the late 50’s and early 60’s.

Joe Engelberger is the “father of robotics”.
