A MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR
Welcome to the Pesach edition of SCOPE. I am very excited to have so manywonderful articles in this issue! Jeffrey Wiesenfeld writes passionately about thewonderful Yiddish Theatre. Moshe Jensen describes in vivid detail the Super-bowl Sunday extravaganza at Great Neck Synagogue. Once again Stanley Fis-cher shares with SCOPE magazine a fascinating article describing prints inJewish history with many beautiful photographs of interesting prints. In “Closingthe Circle and Finding Peace,” Jason Mayer relays from his late father and ourshul’s beloved former President, Steven Mayer z”l, a compelling story, as well asa moving speech by his cousin who was a Holocaust surviver, who spoke re-cently at a ceremony at Bergen-Belson concentration camp. We strongly en-courage our other members to submit articles for SCOPE publication. We continue to be grateful to our SCOPE sponsors and loyal advertisers whocontinue to sustain the publication of SCOPE. We welcome several new busi-nesses who submitted advertisements for this issue of SCOPE. Without theirstrong financial support, it would be difficult to produce this magazine. We hopeour members will thank them and make every effort to support their businessesand use their services.Thank you very much to our Executive Director, Mark Twersky, who always helpswith many details of SCOPE. His office staff, Adele Jackson, Maxine Nasser,Paula Minsky and Susan Goldstein also help me so much with SCOPE and I amgrateful to them. Thank you very much to Rabbi Dale Polakoff for all his time, aswell as his advice and input on this issue of SCOPE.I always feel fortunate to work with our wonderful Art Director, Andrew Allen. Thisis our first SCOPE issue that we worked on together since he relocated to SouthCarolina in January. With the help of many people, I look forward to continuingto produce what I hope you will agree is a top quality, interesting and informativemagazine for our membership.
On behalf of my husband, David and our children, Alexander, Oliver and Sophia,I wish you all a very happy Pesach.
