2011 Cash and Camping Group Mandates
KIDSPORT GRANDE PRAIRIE & AREA
KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financialassistance for registration fees and equipmentfor organized sport programsfor kids aged 18 and under. Through a confidential application process weprovide grants so they can play a season of sport. Since the launch of theKidSport progr am in 1995, local chapters across Alberta have distributedmore than $6million to over 36,500 children and youth.
Mission
:We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be giventhe opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports.KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriersthat prevent them from playing organized sport.We do this by:
Raising funds in the community to pay registration fees for KidSportkids to participate in sport programs.
Gathering used equipment for KidSport kids to use in sportprograms.
Advocating the value and benefit of kids playing sports in the pursuitof lifelong health and wellness.We believe that through participation in organized sport activities, kids learn the values of:

GIRL GUIDES OF PEACE RIVER AREA
Our goal is to enrich the lives of girls and women from the age of 5 to 125. We are anorganization for girls and women run by girls and women and in 2010 we celebrated 100 years of guiding in Canada.We are going to use the proceeds of this lottery to help update and do some renovations toour Camp Kupasiwin campsite that is located 2 hours North of Grande Prairie. This site isdesignated for all members of guiding to use for camps, meetings, retreats, day camps, musiccamps and many other fun things. We have sleep shelters, cook shelters and a kitchen,bathrooms, tenting sites and much more to offer the girls in Northern Alberta. With the moneywe receive we will be able to fix the roofs of our shelters and possibly put new siding on thebuildings. We will be able to update our kitchen and purchase a generator for extra power usageto run our fridge.Website: www.girlguides.ca
 
CATHOLIC FAMILY SERVICES OF GRANDE PRAIRIE
Catholic Family Services is a non-profit agency thatprovides affordable services to all residents of GrandePrairie and outlying regions without discrimination withregard to age, sex, colour, race, religious persuasion,marital status, political belief, or disability. We arededicated to enhancing the quality of life for all who seek its service. To achieve this goal we provide: individual,family and marital counseling with fees based on incomeand ability to pay. We also provide family life educationprograms; a men’s support group; and administer theFamily/Community Liaison Program.All funds received from Cash & Camping Lottery will beput towards our counseling program.
VALHALLA HERITAGE SOCIETY
The Valhalla Heritage society was formed in 1988 with the purpose of Preservation andenhancement of the community by initiating, encouraging and supporting ethnic, cultural andheritage projects. Currently we are working on creating a Community Centre in Valhalla bybuilding a library, meeting room, washrooms and new entrance on to the gymnasium at theValhalla Community Charter School.

SASKATOON LAKE AG SOCIETY
Saskatoon Lake Ag. Society currently manages a community hall in abeautiful rural setting. In order to keep our hall running and looking nicewe need to do some renovations to it. We have managed to repaint thewalls and do some small renovation work, however, the money from thisspring lottery will help us to do some renovations to our kitchen andmeeting room. Also it will help us to spruce up the outside and continueto keep our grounds up and looking beautiful.
