Mission of Toastmasters
To provide a mutually supportive and positivelearning environment in which every individ- ual member has theopportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence
Toastmasters has not only helped improve my public speaking skills but has also given achance to meet, interact and befriend truly amazing people. My toastmasters journeystarted on May 12, 2007 and has seen many ups and downs in last three and half years. Ihad to take a break from toastmasters because of studies and I rejoined only this may. This September has beenimportant for me. I started taking active part in Toastmasters activities and finally delivered a speech after a
break of almost three years. Through this newsletter‟s channel, I would like to thank all fellow toastmasters for
their support and guidance. This September was also a month of competitions. Humorous Speech and Evaluation contest at both Club leveland Area level were held this month. My congratulations to the winners and best wishes for the upcoming Divi-sion level contest. Also, Our club has received Smedley Award for adding nine new members in the months of August and September. In this issue, Club President Malkiat Bindra talks about contests and shares his vision for the club, DTM RituArora shares her views about competitions, and Sangeeta Malik presents her thoughts on how each one of us
can carve out their unique identity. In the „Hyde Park‟ section we invited new ideas that could become a part of
our meetings and received some exciting new thoughts. We will attempt to test and incorporate these over the
next few meetings. Read about two new toastmasters in the „Know Thy Toastmaster‟ section.
Hope you enjoy reading!!!Vikas Kumar
