PHS BULLETIN

APRIL 15, 2011 – REGULAR SCHEDULE

Prom tickets can still be purchased TODAY at lunch in Ms. Rivera’s ROOM 118 –
across from the MPR!
Tickets will stop being sold at the 5 minute bell.
THERE WILL BE NO TICKETS SOLD AT THE DOOR OR AFTER 3 PM TODAY!!! NO
EXCEPTIONS!!!

HOUSEKEEPING:

Freshmen and Sophomore students who are in the tutoring program need to turn in
their forms today. Please make sure that you have recorded your current EDline
grades.

Reminder to all students attending prom: The new dance policy will be in effect.
Inappropriate dancing will result in one warning then you will be asked to leave on the
second offense. Please don’t jeopardize you chance to enjoy the prom because you
didn’t comply with the dance policy.

If you are interested in Health Occupations classes for the 2011-2012 school year
please pick up you application from the counseling office or Mr. DeVore. Applications
are due back to the counseling office by April 28th.

Juniors that presented your project proposal on Apr 12th - please see your Mustang
Period Adviser for your results.
ASB:
Juniors and Seniors attending prom: pictures before the dance are available, starting
at 6pm. You do not need to sign-up for an early picture time. The dance begins at
7:30pm and the doors will close at 9:30pm. Please remember to familiarize yourself
with dance policies as outlined in your school agenda.

Our dazzling junior royalty has been chosen! Our junior princesses are Miranda
Castilleja, Briseida Fajardo, and Carmi Acosta. But we can't forget about our Prince
charming! (Or should I say prince charmings?) Randy Salgado, Joel Hurtado, and Cesar
Lopez. Please congratulate our sparkling diamond juniors. Remember to vote for our
diamond senior king and queen at prom!

Key Club members and friends; come to the meeting today at lunch in Room 131. We
are getting ready for the Easter egg hunt on Apr 23rd and the first Kiwanis Breakfast
fundraiser on May 7. These projects are a lot of fun! Anyone who would like to help
(and get service hours) is welcome.

The ASB elections campaigning rules meeting will be on Wednesday April 20th at
lunch in the band room. All candidates running for an office must attend. See Mrs.
Skeen if you have any questions.

Juniors who are registered voters- we will have a primary for your Sr Class of ‘12
President on Friday. We’ll be narrowing down the candidates to 2 for the general
elections in 2 wks. You will vote in your US Hist class. If you do not have a US History
class on your schedule, stop by the band room at lunch on Friday to cast your vote in
the primary. Friday’s list of candidates for the Sr Class of ‘12 President for next year is
Carmi Acosta, Kaleb Merrick & Trisha Taylor. A description of their platforms will be
available when you vote in your history class on Friday.

AWARENESS:

First period BOX TOP Class Competitions! Help collect box tops for Keene-Riverview
Elementary! There will be an envelope in your 1st period class for you to drop your box
tops in – Winning class will receive donuts!!! Don’t delay … competition ends on
Wednesday, April 20th.

Do you have some books around the house that you don’t need or want anymore? If so,
bring ‘em to the MPR at lunch & find Jenna Crowe, Mackenzie Gould, Trevor Michener,
Laurent Leonhard or Mr. Butler! They will be there collecting books for their Book
Drive to donate to the Prosser City Library! Any gently used or new books are gladly
accepted for all levels!

Team-up to put a stop to hunger! From April 13th – 19th there will be boxes in every 1st
period classroom where you can donate canned food & everyday during 4th period
Leandra Velasquez, Bailey Wagner & Hailey Nunez will be around to collect & donate to
the Tri-City food banks to help many families. If you have any questions, please contact
Mr. Butler.

Kids (age 2-14) with cancer at Seattle Children’s Hospital need your help! If you have
gently used toys like cd players, Barbies and games that you no longer use, please
donate them by putting them in the buckets in Mr. Butler’s class or out at Whitstran
Elementary. We will be collecting items – new or used until April 19th.

COMMUNITY:

YOUNG LIFE MONDAY NIGHT is lounge pants and sweats club night! Come for the
ultra casual club where comfort is our thing! See you 7:02pm sharp in the PHS band
room!
