The social, economic and political changes that played a role in city culture was the

migration of immigrants along wit their cultures and the rise of the era of jazz music. The

building and rising of bigger factories as well as the expansion of the railroad was cause

for the explosion of new workers, more income and the growth of the cities. Due to

these factors the city life because much faster paced. There was also the factor of what

part politics played in city culture. The rise of politics allowed there to be order in a once

disorderly time. There was the rise of representation and the people in charge made

changes that would represent the behaviors that would be tolerable as well as the ones

that were not. The explosion of immigrants caused a rich ethnic mix. Harlem is known

for the creation and rise of black jazz music, which is a rich part of American history.
