• Corners: Align on your side of formation, 1x7 inside of #1. V. Twins formation align
1x7 inside of backside TE
• F/S: Align on read side v. Pro set. V. Twins, align outside foot of read tackle
• SAM: Align to strength of formation in the middle of the field. When the ball is on
the hash, align to the field, align 3x7 of emol. Twins rule (inside eye x 5) inside #2
• WILL: Align opposite of SAM. Which is weak or boundary. Align off emol 5x5 or
follow twins rule.
• F/S: F/S will tell us where he is robbing by saying read left/right. The hand signal is
fist to side of head he is reading.
• COS Motion: Is handled by the F/S. He will just change his read call.

• Linebackers: Align to front call. LB to the read side is middle dropper.
• Corners: Blue Tech align inside #1
• F/S: Blue ½ align to strong side of passing set. Align 10-12 yards deep. Never
outside the hash. V. Pro outside shoulder of TE. V. Twins (twins side) inside
shoulder of #2.
• SAM: Align to strong side of passing set. Use pro and twins rules to align yourself.
• WILL: Blue ½ align to weak side of passing set. Use pro and twins rules to set
yourself. * Disguise alignments will be very important to this coverage.
• COS Motion: Will be handled by the F/S.

WIDE DOGS – Is a blitz bringing the LB & Safety from the wide side of the field. A DOG
call tells us the Safety is running a SMOKE. The call tells the front & LB which gap the
LB is running thru. The base rule is the F/S cover #2 to the DOG side. Common sense
rule covers all rule breakers (don’t leave someone un covered). The Safety not blitzing
has FB or #3 strong trips. The LB not blitzing handles his gap on run and back out away
from blitz. “SPY CALL” tells the blitzing Safety to cover back crossing his face.

SMOKES/LIONS – Tells the Safeties they are blitzing off the edge. SMOKE tells them
they are going outside and have pitch on option. LIONS tells them they are going
inside the DE’s and exchange responsibilities with the DE’s. A “FIRE” call must be made
on SMOKES. A “SPY” call can be made with smokes.

LIGHTNING – Tells the Safety to the away from call side he is blitzing. He must make a
“FIRE” call.

BULLETS THUNDER 0 COP – Tells the both Backers & Safety to the call they are blitzing.
The TE side DE must be they “COP”. If no TE “SWITCH” call with Safety. “COP” tells the
TE side DE he has the TE man to man.
MOB
TITE MOB 0 COP

MOB 0 COP SPY – Is an eight man blitz. MOB is BULLETS & SMOKES. This always run
with a “SPY” call. The “SPY” is always away from the F/S. PROBLEM FORMATION – 4
WR’s no TE. RULE – If the formation is balanced F/S has #2 away from the “COP” and
the Safety must “SWITCH” with the “COP” DE.
