Prayer Bulletin No. 28b
(HEPRESHED BY HIS RESURRECTION LIFR
‘The Resurrection of Christ means LIFE T0 THB CHRISTIAN! Life! Lite!
dnd yet - we are so apt to lose our radiance, fervency and zest.
Too often Christians becone stale in their experience! They are dull
and weary
Have you noticed how quickly one's Bank Account becomes depleted
if we fail to keep our deposits up? Similarly, if we fail to have
a regular intake of spiritual life, we lose our spiritual dynamic!
We must regularly drink at the Fountain of Life and feed our souls
upon the Living Bread! Othervise we go stale! Waiting upon the
Lord should be our first priority each morning. No musician vould
attempt to give a Recital without first tuning his instrument.
How foolish if he vere to leave that task until the concert was
over! Our spiritual instruments (soul, spirit, heart, mind, yes and
even our bodies) must be tuned each morning to prevent the melody
of life-in-Christ going flat!
These are critical days. This is no ordinary time. Soldiers of Jesus
are in a strategic battle, and if we are to know victory we must
not be dull, tired, weary or stale! We must keep in the newness and
freshness of the Spirit. It is a grand thing to meet with God and
read the Word every day under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. We
are invigorated and refreshed!
The Lord knows our need, He knows our frame (Ps 103.14) and provides
a fresh snointing every day for us. David said, "I shall be anointed
with fresh oil" (Ps 92.10) The Lord emphasises the DATLY provision
in Lam.2,22-23. "His compassions fail not; they are new every mom-
ing", The Holy spirit supplice us with LIVING WATER (Jan 7-37-38;
and John 4.14) We read in Isaich 28.12 - "This is the rest wherewith
ye may couse the weary to rest, and this is the refreshing". A few
minutes spent each morning allowing the "well of water to spring up"
and the accompanying use ofthe Glossalalia works wonders!
Sonetines the dullness or staleness is brought about by some failure
in our lives. But thank God there is a Fountain filled with Blood,
arawn fron Enmenuel's veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood,
Jose all their guilty stains". Spiritual defeat will always bring
Btaleness. But there is no need for the Christian to suffer defeat.
There is Victory in Jesus! But one must live in Him, abide in Him,
close to Him, in contact with Him - and be continually open to the
inflow of His life. If the electricity was cut off from your home,
your stove, washer, lights, and other appliances would be powerless ~
Useless! And that ie what happens when contact is lost with Jesus ~
and the inflow of Resurrection Life is arrested! Ve are useless!
Ae we spend tine with Him every morning, the Roly Spirit recharges
our spiritual batteries - and we are invincible! Victory sweeps
away dullness and staleness! Ve are refresied in Hia!
Spiritual idleness will promote staleness, too. Are you doing any
service for Jesus? Witnessing? Praying for others? A burden for some
poor lost soul, and prayerfully looking for an opportunity to witness
keeps the soul refreshed
The fires of @ Christian's soul will soon burn low if he neglects his
Church meetings. Hearing about Joous and talking about Him while
fellowshiping with other Christians is a wonderful way of keeping
our spiritual temperature up!
I suppose one of the greatest influences in the life of a Christian
is looking for The Lord Jesus to Return! ‘0 be on the tip-toe of
expectancy for His Coming will certeinly keep any Christian from
getting stale! — Brother/Sister, I you get weary, dull or stale
in your spiritual life, pause and remember that, “In a monent, in
‘the twinkling of an eye, at the lest trump, for the trumpet shall
Bound and the dead in Christ shall rise first - and we shall be
changed!" Hallelujah! Be ready!
